Rik Wright has been performing as a professional musician for more than twenty years and has established himself as one of the Northwest's most notable jazz guitarists. KBCS 91.3 FM Seattle/Bellevue named Rik Wright one of their best music picks and Arts 4Culture selected Wright to be included in the Touring Arts Roster, a juried directory of the Northwest's most talented professional performers. The Rik Wright Quintet has performed at the Bumbershoot Festival, Bite of Seattle, Fremont Fair, West Seattle Summer Fest, Northwest Folklife, the Anacortes Arts Festival and live from the studio of Jack Straw Productions, broadcast on KEXP 90.3FM Seattle and KXOT 91.7FM Tacoma/Olympia. The performances of the Rik Wright Quintet contain at least 75% original material written by one or more of the band members, masterpieces by Miles, Coltrane and Monk, and jazz arrangements of tunes that listeners won’t expect from a jazz band, such as an instrumental version of Tom Wait’s “New Coat of Paint” and The Who’s “Baba O’Reilly.” Contact: |
